MSXdev25 announces competition schedule – MSX Club Magazine

The MSXdev organization has released the schedule for the 2025 edition of its traditional game development competition for the MSX platform. The competition, now in its 21st year, will once again be held in a Free Style format, accepting any MSX-compatible game, with no hardware restrictions.
Created in 2003, MSXdev has already brought together around 350 original titles focused on the MSX standard, and has become a showcase for veteran developers and emerging talent. This year's edition features a new twist: the competition was announced two months in advance, although the official registration and submission period has been reduced from nine to six months.

The official registration period for MSXdev25 runs from September 15, 2025, to March 15, 2026. However, organizers emphasize that participants can start developing their games now, ensuring a similar total preparation time as in previous editions. The names of the judges are yet to be announced.
The competition is funded exclusively by donations and sponsored items that make up the prizes for the winners. Those interested in supporting the initiative can contribute financially or offer sponsorships directly to the organization. More information about MSXdev25 can be found on the competition's official website.
