Pengo: Paxanga Soft releases port it created in 2010 for MSX2 – Revista Clube MSX

Spanish software house Paxanga Soft released its port of Pengo this week. Originally published by SEGA in 1982, Pengo received a brilliant MSX2 version in 2010 from Paxanga. At the time, the game was released on cartridges, and now Paxanga is making the ROM of its port available for free download. The file can be downloaded from the software house's itch.io.

About Pengo
In Pengo , you must help the friendly penguin defeat all the Sno-Bees chasing him as he navigates mazes filled with ice blocks. You can crush enemies by pushing the blocks against them. But be careful: don't let the Sno-Bees use their stingers against you!

Pengo was originally created in 1982 by Coreland , published by SEGA, for arcades. In 2010, the game was ported to the MSX2 by Spanish software house Paxanga Soft. The game was released on cartridges and has now been distributed for free in digital format (ROM) by Paxanga. The MSX2 version features interesting features, such as screen scrolling to maintain the original arcade view (which is vertically oriented).
Fun fact: Clube MSX magazine No. 3 , released in 2018, features a FILES section listing games starring penguins. Pengo, ported by Paxanga Soft, is duly registered there. See a video demonstration of the port below.
