Ankje Kalkwiek passed away at 77

With great sadness, I want to inform you that Ankje Kalkwiek passed away on 14-10-2024 at the age of 77. Ankje passed after a brief illness, surrounded by her husband and children.

She leaves behind 3 children and 1 grandchild.

Ankje was the wife of Eltje Kalkwiek, the chairman of MSX-Club West-Friesland. For 20 years, they have both been the face of the club, with Ankje always welcoming members and visitors at the entrance. She was Eltje’s right-hand person during club days. They also regularly attended MSX fairs and retro events together, and often visited club days of other groups.

Although 77 is a respectable age, she had hoped to continue with the MSX-Club alongside Eltje for many more years. She was always enthusiastic about the game competitions, playing on her own MSX. Her favorite games were puzzle games.

Ankje will be greatly missed, as everyone has spoken with her at some point. I wish the family strength in this difficult time.
