“Cerium” reveal live stream | MSX Resource Center

28 years after “Pure”, Omega returns with a brand-new OPL4 release, to be unveiled during a live stream hosted by GreyFoxNL on Twitch. The stream is scheduled for Saturday, September 6th at 21:00 CEST.
Calling it a “music disk” might be underselling it — this one goes far beyond floppy limits. Making full use of modern OPL4 cartridges with 1MB or 2MB sample RAM, Cerium delivers stereo 16-bit 44kHz samples across a massive 16MB production. That’s a record size on MSX, distributed on a Nextor-formatted SD card, ready to use with devices like MegaFlashROM SD, MSX-PICO or Carnivore 2 after copying it to a CF card.
Requirements:
- MSX2
- OPL4 cartridge with at least 512kB sample RAM (1MB recommended, 2MB for full content)
- Fast CPU (5/7MHz Z80 or R800) for reduced loading times
Expect 20+ tracks of high-energy bass pounding electronic dance music, ranging from nostalgic 90s covers (L.A. Style, U-96, Faithless) to fresh material in styles such as EBM, dark techno, hard trance, and industrial.
The physical edition will debut at MSX2 GOTO40: a microSD card (with adapter), packed in a hard plastic shell with full-color cover, priced at just €10. One week after the event, the digital edition will be available as a free download.
