On December 15, Masayuki Kato , president and founder of the video game development company Nihon Falcom , passed away.
Before founding Nihon Falcom as a company to distribute the video games he created, Masayuki set up an Apple II computer store in Tokyo in 1981, where customers who frequented the store soon began to create programs and video games. That is why the following year he founded Nihon Falcom to publish the video games that were being made.
Nihon Falcom was known in the MSX standard for RPGs with great graphics and soundtracks, as well as quality presentation. An example of this is the Dragon Slayer saga , which saw the light of day with no less than six games over five years. Another saga remembered by many of us is Ys , which also came out on MSX with three episodes.
In addition to MSX, their games were released for a multitude of computer systems as well as consoles.
