MinQ:ExtrA by NukegaraDHP released | MSX Resource Center

Are you missing those old-school JRPGs from our childhood? Then, MinQ:ExtrA could be the answer to your nostalgia. Published by the Japanese developer NukegaraDHP, MinQ:ExtrA is an evolution of MinQ, a game created in 2021.
This time the game received a major update. The main differences between both versions are a ten times larger map size including fields, caves and castles, an increased variety of items and enemies, added the save function, and the introduction of a new proficiency system. On the other hand, the English and Spanish translations have been comprehensively revised.
The system requirements and features are as follows:
- MSX2 (VRAM 128 KB) or higher.
- Floppy disk drive.
- Disk BASIC is required (C-BIOS is not supported).
- Game pad support.
- MSX-MUSIC support.
- NTSC/PAL support.
- Z80 mode in MSX turbo R.
- MSX0 is not supported.
The game comes with a DVD case, 1 disk, a 32 pages full colour multilingual instruction manual, and a support card. The support card contains an ID/password plus an URL. This URL allows users to download the latest version of the game, in case of future improvements or bug fixes, and a PDF of the user manual.
The plan was to release the game at the MSX 40th anniversary event in Japan last 14 October 2024, but unfortunately the meeting was cancelled due to force majeure and postponed to spring 2025. Despite the circumstances, the game is already for sale through BOOTH site for a price of ¥5,000 (around 30€). Those international buyers willing to get a copy can do it via Buyee just following this step-by-step guide.
