MSXGotY 2024: Maiden's Extreme Fist «BUN-GA-RUA»
Another year has ended and as usual in this house, it is time to choose what for me is the best MSX game.
And this year the MSXGotY goes to Maiden's Extreme Fist «BUN-GA-RUA» , one of the participants in the current edition of the MSXdev contest and who, in my opinion, has a good chance of finishing at the top. Nobody is It is hard to believe that at first glance this game looks a lot like Konami's classic Yie-Ar Kung Fu. And that is, a priori, a sign that we are in for some good sensations.
Maiden's Extreme Fist offers two completely different game modes: we can play as if it were a classic Yie-Ar, or we can enjoy a much deeper and more elaborate story mode. The objective of the game in the story mode is to finish off Liangah , head of an evil clan that has set fire to the place where our protagonist, Yulee Menno , lives, who decides to confront him to prevent him from destroying everything and resurrecting an ancient king called Bungarua . To do this, we will have to advance little by little learning the kung-fu techniques necessary to face our enemies with confidence. In addition, we can eat different ramen dishes that will transform Yulee and make us much stronger.
The game is packed with amazing details such as graphics, character animations, details and music. It is a well-rounded game in every sense, a 10 out of 10 game. This is why it deserves to be chosen as MSXGotY 2024.

I don't know if the author plans to make a physical version, but I would love to have it on a ROM cartridge with its cardboard box.
