OCM-PLD v3.9.2 is the new Official MSX++ Firmware

The One Chip MSX (OCM), first released in 2006, is a Programmable Logic Device (PLD) acting as a true MSX computer. The OCM-PLD pack is all the firmware and software you need to get it up and running. KdL has released OCM-PLD version 3.9.2
With much love and patience, KdL has been working 2 years to develop this latest upgrade for the following 1st and 2nd Gen machines:
- 1chipMSX, Zemmix Neo, SX-1 (regular) and SX-1 Mini/Mini+.
- SM-X (regular), SX-2 and SX-E.
Its creation demanded enormous effort, validating as many as 72 firmware variants. Here’s a summary of the main new features:
- Updated Switched I/O ports ($40-$4F) module to Revision 12.
- Ability to save Smart Commands in the FPGA’s EPCS, making settings permanent at every boot.
- Enhanced ESE-MegaRAM: 2048 KB ASCII-8K and 4096 KB ASCII-16K.
- Improved VDP for greater accuracy and reliability in games.
- Some modules rewritten from scratch have made it possible to update even 1st Gen machines.
- The 2nd Gen includes access to the external device OCM Indicator, designed by HRA!
- Native support for C-BIOS now assists hardware producers and is no longer just for software emulators.
- Many tools provided like mglOcm by ToughkidCST, OCMINFO by NataliaPC, and others.
For full details, see the history.txt file included in the project.
Updating the new tools OCM-EXTRA and OCM-SDBIOS is crucial for enhancing the MSX++ experience. The ++Logo Toolkit integrated into OCM-SDBIOS adds a fun feature, allowing you to customize the BIOS start-up logo to your liking.
