Pyxidis Ex and Block’em Sock’em

Electric Adventures, the Australian software publisher, has expanded their MSX catalog with two exciting new titles: Pyxidis Ex and Block’em Sock’em. These boxed ROM cartridges are now up for pre-order in their e-shop, just in time to make this Christmas season even more special.

Known as Electric Adventures, Tony Cruise is the mastermind behind numerous retrocomputer games for platforms like Colecovision, Spectravideo, Sega, and MSX. His consistent output of 8-bit games over the years has brought joy to many MSX enthusiasts. With his latest creations Pyxidis Ex and Block’em Sock’em, Tony continues this happy stream of retro goodness.

Block’em Sock’em is a classic arcade puzzle action game that evokes the fun of classics like Arkanoid, Space Invaders, and Tetris. Created by the renowned retro gaming enthusiast John Hancock, the game challenges you to destroy blocks by throwing the block you’re holding at other blocks of the same color to clear each level.

Pyxidis Ex is a top-down vertical shooter game, reminiscent of classics like Zanac and Twinbee. It features the timeless narrative of saving Earth from an alien invasion. Pyxidis Ex is the enhanced sequel to Electric Adventures biggest selling game in the 1980’s.

Both games are MSX1 based and provided as physical ROM cartridges in a high-quality printed box, complete with a manual and a signed, numbered certificate. Block’em Sock’em will be encased in a red cartridge shell, whereas Pyxidis Ex will be housed in a special edition galaxy purple cartridge shell. Shipping is set to begin in early February. All shipping methods come with tracking, and a standard box can accommodate up to three games. The prices, listed in Australian dollars, offer a 30-40% discount to European and USA buyers.
