Seed of the Dragon – English translation
The team at MSX.Translations is on fire, moving at turbo speed. Right after the long-awaited public release of the Illusion City translation, they’ve now introduced the English translation of Seed of the Dragon. Another MSX turbo R game that has been a long-standing dream for MSX gamers to play and fully enjoy.
The game “Seed of the Dragon – Dragon’s Descendant” by Riverhill Soft Inc. was a 1990 exclusive release for the MSX turbo R computer. Spanning three disks, it offered six levels, impressive animations, and ominous PCM samples. Initially, the developers considered adding MIDI support, but it was ultimately replaced by MSX-Music FM tunes. The final product featured massive enemies, even larger bosses, hordes of foes, and a complex power-up system utilizing elemental powers, though it was only available in Japanese. On top of that, the steep difficulty curve made even seasoned MSX gamers look for easier adventures.
After 35 years since its original release, we can finally fully enjoy this hidden gem in English. Thanks to the MSX.Translations team, who did an incredible job translating the game from Japanese to English, including text, graphics, samples, and the manual, it’s time to unleash your inner dragon and save the day once and for all. Earlier, the translation patch was released on Future Disk #50. Now, the patch for the game will also be made available to everyone else. As always, MSX.Translations offers the patch for free — but don’t let that stop you from hitting the donation button to show your appreciation!
