Final results of MSXdev'24 published

After a period of deliberation by the jury members, the final results of the MSXdev'24 competition have been announced.

The first thing we always look at is who won. And this year, it was pretty clear, in my opinion, who the winner was going to be. Because the overall quality of Maiden's Extreme Fist – BUN-GA-RUA was at a very high level, even though I'm not that into fighting games.
So it's time to congratulate Retromixis , its creator, for this first place in the overall ranking. Following this were Room 5 and Doomlings , for me the two surprises of this year's contest. I was keenly following the first of the two due to its graphic design and the mysterious atmosphere it exuded. The second is the classic Lemmings, but in reverse: instead of saving them, you have to eliminate them all.
In fact, in our survey the votes showed identical results in the first two positions, while Doomlings came in fifth, behind Super Sokoban and A Great New World .
But it would be unfair to limit ourselves to just the winners. I recommend examining the final report prepared by Santi Ontañón , Joel Verdonck , Gryzor87 , and WYZ for each entry to understand their assessments in detail. In addition to the comments and scores, the judges take the opportunity to offer advice and suggestions for improvements that will surely be very useful to the contest participants.
In addition to the overall ranking, there were three other categories considered in the competition. Here's a brief list of the top three in each:
BETTER MECHANICS
- Doomlings.
- Room 5.
- Maiden's Extreme Fist – BUN-GA-RUA.
BETTER GRAPHICS
BEST SOUND
- Maiden's Extreme Fist – BUN-GA-RUA.
- Puzzle Pals.
- Super Sokoban.
It's time to congratulate the MSXdev organization for their work, all the participants for sharing their talent with us and making us enjoy ourselves in front of the MSX screen, and of course, the members of the jury.
